• Art and Aperitivo

Every Thursday evening during August 17:30 - 19:30

Join us after work or in-between festival shows' for an evening of Renaissance Art paired with a glass of wine, and a chance to enjoy classic aperitivo in the Dovecot Studios Cafe.

Immerse yourself within the life and work of Italian Renaissance artist Raphael in this digital art exhibition and a new Dovecot contemporary tapestry marking his 500th anniversary.

Place yourself in Renaissance Italy as you stroll the exhibition enjoying some wine.

Raphael (1483–1520) was a painter, draughtsman, and architect, whose designs for tapestry are considered some of the most important surviving masterworks of the Renaissance. During his brief career, spanning just two decades, Raphael shaped the course of European art, sealing his reputation as a Renaissance Master.

An audio guide will navigate you through large-scale projections and displays, this exhibition allows you to experience recreations of Raphael's masterpieces including Madonna of the Goldfinch (1505–6, Uffizi), The Deposition of Christ (1507) and The Transfiguration (1516–20, Vatican). You will be guided to a key moment in Raphael's career, the creation of the Papal Apartments at the Vatican, also known as the Raphael Rooms.

The audio guide is available in English, Spanish and Italian.

Ticket price includes glass of wine and entry to Raphael - Magister Raffaello and Alan Davie: Beginning of a Far-Off World
